Accessorize With ASICS®

Irvine, CA (March 1, 2006) – For more than 50 years, ASICS has been on the leading edge of performance athletic footwear development, bringing to the market some of sport’s most revered shoes. Those same advancements and technologies have been carried over to apparel and accessories, as well. For Fall 2006, ASICS introduces a number of exciting accessories for the sports enthusiast.

The Winter Run™ Hybrid Hat and Winter Run™ Hybrid Gloves combine the best qualities of different technologies into one product to provide unique performance characteristics. The Winter Run Hybrid Hat features rib knitting on the top to create a well-fitting hat that protects the head from the elements. The rib knit is combined with a Storm Shelter bonded jersey headband that offers soft touch and wind protection for the ears and back of the neck. A reflective ASICS logo offers added visibility in low-light conditions.

Similarly, the Winter Run™ Hybrid Gloves combines the protection of a full finger mitt with the functionality of a fingerless glove. This is achieved using a mitt constructed with Storm Shelter nylon jersey laminated with PU that folds back and is held in place by a reflective elastic strap, revealing a fingerless glove. A rib knit cuff seals the wrist and brushed tricot interior provides added comfort in more severe conditions.

For the feet, the Kinsei™ Quarter and Kinsei™ Low Cut contain a number of characteristics that help achieve optimal performance and comfort in conjunction with ASICS footwear. The anatomically correct right and left construction and variable compression from the arch band to top of the welt allows for an extremely customized fit.

The Kinsei Quarter and Kinsei Low Cut utilize different densities throughout the bottom of the sock to provide extra cushioning at heel impact and toe-off. Mesh ventilation, especially under the toes, and flexible horizontal lace pad cushioning make this one of the most technologically-advanced athletic socks ever brought to the market.

ASICS will also introduce a line of performance bags, the Sydney™ collection. The Sydney collection of bags feature durable textured nylon fabric, zippered mesh pockets, internal organizational sleeves and keyclip, padded straps and large main pockets. The ASICS Run Back Pack also features a detachable nylon rain cover and water bottle pockets. The Sydney™ Wheel Bag is the largest of the bags and has a handle with push button retraction, zippered closure and wheels for mobility. Rounding out the collection are the Sydney™ Mid Duffle and Sydney™ Big Duffle. All four bags are available is an exciting silver, red and black color scheme.
