Irvine, CA (February 22, 2006) - ASICS® garners yet another shoe award from Runner’s World® magazine. During an industry breakfast hosted by Runner’s World at the WSA show in Las Vegas, the publication announced that the GEL-Eagle Trail V was named ‘Best Update’ in the Spring 2006 Trail Shoe Guide (April 2006).

The GEL-Eagle Trail V is targeted to the trail runner who demands a shoe versatile and rugged enough to adjust to and withstand virtually all trail conditions. With several new and exciting updates to the upper, this shoe only gets better with age.

A new nano-tech mesh was added to the upper, providing the highest quality water resistant fabric ever applied to a non-seam sealed shoe within the ASICS collection. This new upper not only sheds moisture but also maintains a higher degree of breathability and overall flexibility. ASICS’ tried and true Biomorphic Fit system was also added to the upper with a trail specific material designed to withstand rigorous use but still maintain a good stretch quality. A re-designed ghilly lacing system was added to address the support needs of the trail runner. The laces wrap the shoe comfortably and securely around the instep and also tie in to a strapping system for the heel that ensures a snug fit in the rearfoot.

One female Runner’s World wear-tester exclaims, “An outstanding all-around performer. It has a great combination of support and traction.”

The GEL-Eagle Trail V is currently available at participating retail stores. To find a retailer near you, please call 800.678.9435 or visit www.asicsamerica.com. To read the April review (on newsstands March 7th) from Runner’s World visit www.runnersworld.com.
