Background

How did you start in your sport?
My dad started me in tennis. I have an older brother and sister that both played so once I came along I pretty much had no choice..it was in our blood:)

What does a typical training day look like?
A typical training day is generally a physical warmup for 30 minutes, 2 hours of tennis followed by a 1 hour/1.5 hr workout, lunch, tennis for 1.5/2 hours and then finished up with any rehab/treatment that needs to be done.

What keeps you passionate about your sport?
There are many things that keep me passionate about tennis, but for me, to give my all in something that I love, every single day, is very rewarding and I get a lot of contentment out of that; to be able to get better at one trade every day is pretty cool.

What continues to drive you forward?
I love making short term and long term goals and to be able to check them off is the greatest feeling. To know that I still have room to improve in every area is a really neat feeling because I believe that the best is yet to come.

How you went from amateur to pro?
I never foresaw myself turning pro before college, however I had a great summer before my, what was going to be my freshman year at Vanderbilt, and I had a sponsor come out to say that he would support me financially if I chose the pro route. And I am grateful every day for taking the road less travelled!

Hobbies:
I love to read, spend time with my family, tweet my random thoughts, lounge in my Asics gear, vintage shop, eat, beat people in paddle tennis and just enjoy life.
