Bryan Clay Biography

Bryan Clay was born to Gregory and Michele Clay on January 3, 1980, in Austin, Texas. His mother is of Japanese heritage and his father is African-American. He also has a younger brother named Nikolas. Bryan’s parents divorced while he was in the fifth grade. As a result, Bryan spent the majority of his child and teen years in Kaneohe, Hawaii and was strongly influenced by his mom’s Japanese culture. “Our house was always full of grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins. We ate ozoni (a traditional Japanese rice soup) on New Year’s Eve. My life was very Japanese.”

Bryan enjoys coaching, hunting, fishing, and the beach. He listens to Christian music, jazz, R&B, inspirational, and country. Some of his favorite movies include Fifth Element, Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Chariots of Fire, and Super Troopers. Some of his favorite shows are 24, American Idol, House, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, I Shouldn’t Be Alive, and Fox News. Bryan may be an “Olympic Champion” whose image appears on Wheaties’ boxes across the country, however, his true pride and passion lies in his faith and his family. Bryan met his wife Sarah in college and together they have three kids, Jacob, Katherine (Kate), and Elizabeth (Elle).
