Irvine, CA (February 2, 2009) - For the third consecutive year ASICS GEL-Kayano® has been named "Editor's Choice" by Runner's World® magazine. The review of the updated GEL-Kayano 15 will be featured in the March issue of Runner's World, which is the annual Spring 2009 Shoe Guide.

According to Runner's World, "The new Kayano has exceptional fit and superior impact protection. Testers were almost unanimous in their praise of the shoe's new off-center lacing pattern, which follows the actual topline of the foot for a natural snug arch wrap."

The Asymmetrical Lacing system is part of the evolution of the ASICS Biomorphic Fit technology which creates a more anatomically correct lacing pattern. This fit configuration envelopes the foot, allowing for a more open forefoot environment, resulting in more comfort and less potential for irritation. To complement the changes in the upper, ASICS' technically-advanced Spacemaster mesh fabric has been utilized in the tongue, promoting more effective moisture transfer and breathability.

The GEL-Kayano 15 also features a lighter platform weighing in at 12.8 ounces, almost one ounce lighter than the previous version, by incorporating an innovative injection-molded Solyte® midsole material. Other updates include a larger rear-foot GEL® Cushioning System which delivers more of the incredible "ride" that has already become its legacy in running footwear.

"We are excited and honored to receive this recognition from Runner's World, the authority in the running community." says Jim Monahan, VP Footwear, ASICS America Corporation. "The GEL-Kayano is a benchmark for high-end trainers and we believe this new model has taken it to the next level."

The GEL-Kayano 15 is available at participating retail stores for $140. To find a retailer, visit www.asics.com. To read the March review (on newsstands February 3, 2009) from Runner's World visit www.runnersworld.com.
