Is anyone else having problems with the new lacing system on the Kayano 16's? The info about the shoe says:
Asymmetrical Lacing Design
An anatomically correct lacing environment that reduces potential for irritation and provides improved comfort and fit.

I have run in Kayanos for years and one thing I loved about them is that I could put them on and run any distance without a breaking-in period. I have never had the shoes hurt me, and I run a lot. I am a 200 mile a month runner, and Kayanos have been my shoe of choice a long time and a lot of races.

I always buy two pair and alternate them, so when the first pair began hurting me right at my big-toe joint where the laces start, I thought it was THAT pair of shoes. BUT the second pair does the same thing. I loosened the laces, but the top of my foot radiating out from the joint on both sides is bruised, purple and bright red. No blister, just painful bruising. I have been trying them for about 3 weeks now, but the pain continues.

I have never had to return Kayanos. Do you know if Asics will take them back? Maybe they would trade me for some 15's?

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have worn DS Trainers for years.  When the Model 14 came out I purchased a pair and hated them.  They feel heavy, stiff and I just couldn't wear them.  They now sit in my closet and when the 15s came out, I again purchased a pair.  Fortunately I tried them on the treatmill several times before returning them to the store for the same reasons as the 14s.
Does anyone know where I can find the older models - anything from model 10-13.  I wear a woman's size 8.  I've tried google and haven't been able to find any place that carries older models.
I've even tried switching to other brands but would prefer to stick with Asics after wearing them for 12 years.

Asics have been my shoe of choice for as long as I can remember.  I was running in a trail shoe because I lived in the country and mostly ran on back roads, no pavement.  Recently I have upped my training a bit and started running the roads in town and purchased the GEL-KAYANO 16 a few weeks ago.  They felt like a glove in the store but since running on them for a few weeks now, my heels are getting blisters.  Doesn't matter which socks I wear, there is constant rubbing and it is painful.  Anyone else having this problem?

I have just about worn out my Gel Kayano 16's and am about to replace them.  Does anyone know when ASICS usually launches their next model? What about a Gel Kayano 17??
